Therese M. Gleason, age 79, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 3, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born in Muskegon, MI on October 17, 1943 to Edward and Albertha Loss, who preceded her in death. On July 29, 1967, she married Jerry L. Gleason, the love of her life. They were married 53 years before Jerry’s passing on May 30, 2021. Early in her career she was a legal secretary, later spending many years as a Tupperware manager. She was a proud and successful weight loss coach for 23 years for Weight Watchers and a mentor to many.
Terri’s mission in life was to honor God in all she did and share his message of salvation. She leaves a beautiful legacy of faith and love which she passed on to her family and friends. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Her many hobbies included gardening, baking, painting and camping. She loved watching her birds, laughing with a glass of wine with friends & family and going to Lake Michigan to watch glorious sunsets.
Terri is survived by her sons, Mark (Mary) Gleason and David (Shawn) Gleason, two grandsons, Jacob Gleason and Adam (Emilie) Gleason, seven siblings, Donald Loss (Norma), Roger Loss, Ken Loss (Juanita) deceased, Phillip Loss (JoAnn), Robert Loss (Linda), Michael Loss (Janett), Catherine Pack (Haskel) and many nieces, nephews and her grand-dog, Raelyn Joy. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Muskegon for over 50 years. She was so grateful to have the opportunities to learn God’s Holy Word and to serve Him by teaching others what she learned. She had the tremendous joy to praise and worship Him through the music of the choir and bell choir for many years. In 2012, Terri was licensed to preach the gospel and had the honor to officiate a number of weddings and funerals.
A celebration of Terri’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 23rd at First Baptist Church, 1070 Quarterline Road, Muskegon. There will be a time of fellowship prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Please plan on staying to enjoy a light lunch and a time of fellowship and remembrance with the family immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a contribution to First Baptist Church or Hospice of Michigan.
