Obituary

Rose Marie Richmond, age 66, passed away surrounded by family at home on August 28, 2023, in Lawton, MI. She was born on September 3, 1956, in Kalamazoo, MI, to Richard E. Richmond and Shirley (Morse) Richmond. Rose was a kind, thoughtful, and caring individual who touched the lives of many with her independent spirit and sense of humor. She was known for her courageous nature and her love for her family, grandchildren, and her dog, Kaleb.

Rose had a passion for cooking and enjoyed preparing meals for others, especially during times of need. Rose's interests extended to taking her beloved dog to the lake and playing cards, particularly rummy, and trips to the casino.

In her professional life, Rose worked at several different grocery stores before venturing out to start her own successful cleaning business. After retiring from the cleaning industry, she worked part-time displaying products at Costco in Kalamazoo.

Rose found solace and strength in her faith and was a member of Journey Family Church in Gobles, MI. She found comfort and solace in her relationship with Christ.

Rose is survived by her loving children, Melissa Hawes (Wade), Brandy Hite (Sean Oberlin), Brandon Hite, and her four legged son Kaleb. She was a cherished grandmother to Shelby VanBuren (Aaron Collins), Sarah VanBuren, Lillian VanBuren, and Mason Hite. Rose also leaves behind her siblings, Bob Richmond (Doreen), Vicki Kehoe (Jim), Richard Richmond (Dori), and David Richmond (Debbie). She will be dearly missed by her special cousins, Pat Webb and Robert Brunetti, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Shirley, her siblings Terry Richmond and Sharon Richmond-Husza, her special cousin Cathy Healy, and her ex-husband, Tim Hite.

A celebration of Rose's life will be held on Saturday, September 30th, starting at 1:00 pm, at 29481 94th Ave, Marcellus, MI 49067. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring and remembering Rose, followed by a luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Journey Family Church in Gobles, MI, a no-kill animal shelter of your choice, or the West Michigan Cancer Center.

Rose will forever be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and love for her family. May she rest peacefully in the arms of her Savior.
