Obituary

Roger James Armstrong, 70, of Fenton Michigan, passed on peacefully with his children by his side on May 9th, 2023. He is survived by his children Amanda and Alexander, from his marriage to Melinda Kearns. Roger was the last living member of his immediate family. He survived the loss of his brothers Bernie, Mark and Ron, and his parents Ron Sr. and Betty. Born in Pontiac, Michigan to Ronald and Elizabeth "Betty" (Bentley) Armstrong.

Roger graduated from Fenton High School and went on to pursue a career in the automotive industry. Working for Leaseway Transportation where Roger would meet Melinda. They married a few years later and had their children, Amanda and Alexander. Roger went on to work for Reliable Carriers, a career he loved and took pride in. He ended up traveling to all 50 states, and had priceless stories and photos of his travels. He held a particular love for the untouched states, Montana and Wyoming. During his time with Reliable he specialized in cold weather transport testing, and also delivered vehicles to various film sets. One of his highlights he talked about was when he delivered to the set of The Dark Knight in Chicago and saw Heath Ledger.

He raised his children on strong values, always treating others as you would like to be treated. He raised his children on his love for classic rock - particularly Tom Petty, Boston, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles and Bob Seger. He took his time when he had any meal - he was often the last one finishing at any time, including the holidays. He truly relished his life and all of the moments, big and small. Roger was so loved by any and all he crossed paths with. He radiated kindness and wore a smile every day with a selfless attitude.
