Obituary

Robert Leonard Cunningham at the age of 90 passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May
12, 2023. Robert was born on April 3, 1933 in West Frankfort Illinois to John and Essie (Downs)
Cunningham.
Robert spent 37 years in the Airforce / Air National Guard in Battle Creek before retiring in 1988.
He and his wife were able to enjoy traveling and spending time in Florida with friends after
retirement.
Robert is survived by his wife of 65 years Margaret (Phetterplace) and his sons, Robert (Laurie)
Cunningham, James (Carla) Cunningham and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Robin Lynn Staskey and Judith Ann Zastrow.
The family will plan a Celebration of Life at a later time.
