Marsha Lynnette Holden (Racine), aged 70, of Plainwell, MI, passed away peacefully at her home on February 6th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 2nd, 1953, in Kalamazoo, MI, to Keith and Eda (McLaughlin) Racine.
Marsha was a cherished member of the Plainwell community and will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family. Marsha's life was a tapestry of love, commitment, and service. She graduated from Plainwell High School in 1971 and furthered her education at Wright's Beauty Academy. Marsha's zest for life led her to an enduring partnership with Terry L. Holden, whom she married on August 19th, 1972. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised six children, filling their home with laughter, joy, and countless memories.
Throughout her life, Marsha balanced professional and personal pursuits with grace. She managed several stores and served her community at the local diner with a warm smile and kind heart. Marsha's true calling, however, was as a housewife and mother. She nurtured her family with love, care, and the comfort of home-cooked meals, always ensuring their needs were met above all else. Marsha's interests were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She found joy in shopping, sewing, and crafting, creating treasured holiday memorabilia for her family. Her talents in these areas were only matched by her generosity, as she loved nothing more than sharing her creations with those she loved. Above all, Marsha cherished time spent with her family, whether it was a simple family dinner or a grand holiday celebration, these moments were the highlight of her life.
Sadly, Marsha was preceded in death by her father Keith Racine, mother Eda Storey (McLaughlin), stepfather Alan Storey, brother John Racine, aunt Ruth Hahn, son-in-law Chris Davis, and her beloved grandson Kaiden Counterman. Her memory will be carried on by those she leaves behind: her lifetime partner Terry Holden, her brother Kenneth (Corrine) Racine, sister-in-law Lori Racine, her six children Lynnette Coffinger (Holden), Amanda Davis (Holden), Terry (T.J.) Holden, Angela Holden, Georjeane Holden, and Sara Holden (Chris Torres), her ‘Best-Friend’ Alkie Holden (Hall) 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, February 24th, 2024, at 11 am at the Orangeville Pentecostal Church, with Pastor Jimmy Hall and Mike Risner officiating. The address for the church is 6097 Marsh Rd, Shelbyville, MI. A luncheon will immediately follow the service, allowing family and friends to gather and share memories of Marsha's beautiful life. Marsha's legacy is one of love, family, and the joy of life's simple pleasures. Her warmth, kindness, and the care she provided to her family will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her life was a testament to the impact one person can have on the hearts and lives of many. Marsha Holden (Racine) will be lovingly remembered as a beacon of light and love in the lives of all who knew her.
