Mrs. Lois Mae Telzerow, age 86, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
She was born in the spring of 1937, in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Cecil and Jeanette Boerma. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill), who died in 2008; sister, Ruth (Don) Van Valkenberg; her brother, Leonard Boerma; and sister, Marion (Bill) York.
Lois is survived by her four sons: Bill (Tina) Telzerow, Brian (Becky) Telzerow, Kevin (Rene) Telzerow, and Steve (Barbara) Telzerow; beloved grandchildren: Will (Bryn) Telzerow, Matt (Kiersten) Telzerow, Stephanie (Spencer) Lyons, Evan (Kelsey) Telzerow, Samatha Telzerow, Bryce (Jennica) Telzerow, Sara (Martin) Ojeda, Tim Telzerow and Jakob Telzerow; her great grandchildren: Hudson, Olive, Bennett and Blake; sister-in-law, Irma Boerma; along with many special nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and friends.
Lois graduated from Creston High School in 1955. Lois and Bill were married for 52 years providing a great model of commitment to their four boys. She was employed at Jarob Design Inc., working in the Financial Office until she retired. Lois was an avid golfer and a member of the Elks/Highlands Golf Course and played in many woman’s city golf events. She and Bill loved to travel spending the winter months in Lake Havasu, AZ. She also enjoyed time with friends at the club and going out to dinner. She attended Second Congressional Church where she raised her family, then attended Calvary Church, and finally Fifth Reformed Church. Lois loved to laugh, enjoyed her work, and taking care of her home, a true Ivadoneit!
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 4:00 pm at Fifth Reformed Church, (2012 Griggs St. S.E. Grand Rapids, MI 49505) with Pastors Brian and Steve Telzerow officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family following the service over a light meal. Her family would like to thank the memory care staff at Clark at Keller Lake. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial gifts to support the gospel ministry of Steve Telzerow.
