Helene Kay Genther-Todd

Helene Kay Genther-Todd, 62 of Hopkins, Michigan, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 after a valiant effort battling lung cancer.  Born November 16, 1960 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Joyce Genther of Burnips, Michigan. 

If Helene wasn’t at Russo’s, working hard and making everyone smile with her work family, you could find her in her flower garden or visiting her horse friend, Jack, bringing sugar cubes and carrots.  She had a love for animals like no other, a giver to the ASPCA and she worked closely with animals whether it be training dogs or going on a field rescue.  She always cared for animals in need. Helene also had a deep love for her daughters, along with her grandchildren.  Family was important to her, and she wanted to make sure they always knew how much she loved them.  Her infectious smile makes her someone hard to forget and her loving soul makes her someone so easy to remember.  She is dearly missed by her family and friends.

Helene is survived by her daughters, Lacey Legowicz and Paige (Jake) Grauman; seven grandchildren, Ash Legowicz, Tabitha Legowicz, Grey Legowicz, Owen Risner, Hayden Grauman, Ryker Grauman, and Waylon Grauman; her siblings, Jeff (Marcia) Genther, Gary Genther, and Denise Arens; her precious cat, Ms. Pebs; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Genther Jr.; and two nephews, Robert Hopson and Ronnie Hopson.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hartman Conference Center, 690 N. Eastern Ave., Allegan, MI 49010.  Memorial donations may be made in Helene’s name to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010.  The family would like to thank Wings of Hope for their wonderful care and compassion during Helene’s illness.
