Gary Eugene Mitchell

Gary Eugene Mitchell, age 62, of Kalamazoo, Michigan passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 24, 2023 with loved ones by his side. He was born January 7, 1961. He was the son of Joyce (Snellgrose) Mitchell and the late George Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Alexis Mitchell and Corey Loveland. 

He went to school at Loy Norrix, from there he worked on cars and at the body shop where he then shared his interest and knowledge with his children. He continued on to work for the Kalamazoo Gazette for many years where he made many lifelong friends. He loved the outdoors so you could always find him with family camping, fishing, taking the boat out or playing cards. If you knew him, you knew, he was never alone as he brought along his two faithful dogs Chico and Donald who he loved dearly and never left his side. He was well known for his good sense of humor and always playing pranks, especially at the family reunions. You could always count on him to lend a hand, give advice or be that friend you needed at any time. He brought the fun and laughter anywhere he went. He was a loved father, son, brother, uncle and friend. His memory will forever be cherished by those he leaves behind; Children: Travis (Trina) Mitchell, Chad (Bobbi) Mitchell and Amy (Aaron) Hills. Their mother (ex-wife) Susan Mitchell. Grandchildren: Jordan (Jada) Mitchell, Devin Mitchell, Sarah Mitchell, Dylan Mitchell, Crystal Mitchell, Demi Mitchell and Destiny Mitchell. Siblings: Steve (Deb) Mitchell, Larry (Deb) Mitchell and Vickie (Heiko) Kiwiet. Along with many other beloved family members and friends. As the family is still planning, Celebration of Life ceremony will be announced at a later date.
