Corrine Bridgeman Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Corrine Bridgeman announces her peacefully falling asleep in death, surrounded by family, on May 16, 2023, at the age of 70 in Grand Rapids, MI.

Corrine was born on August 27, 1952, to the union of Henry Lee and Lonnie Bell Bridgeman at Berrien County Hospital in Berrien Center, MI. She considered Benton Harbor, MI as her home but felt strongly connected to her roots in Grand Rapids, MI.

Corrine was a spiritual woman with unwavering faith in God! In recognition of God’s love for her, she shared God’s love with others by volunteering in the community and teaching Bible truths. Serving Jehovah God faithfully brought her the most enjoyment and peace. Her faith grew stronger in her final weeks of life. Amid her declining health, she managed to still inspire others with her joyful anticipation of her resurrection and living on a paradise earth. She looked forward to the promise of Job 14:15, “You will call, and I will answer you.”

Corrine was a strong, yet reserved and soft-spoken woman—holding fast to her spiritual beliefs. She helped those she loved and tried to better herself and offer wisdom from her life’s experiences. Although she had a tough exterior at times, her heart was that of gold.

Corrine loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She often spoke of them with hope and affection. As a mother having a profound impact and influence on those around her, she will always be remembered through the many stories she shared and the memories of those who had the privilege to truly know her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her daughters Tammy S. Bridgeman of Grand Rapids, MI, Tijuana (Darron) Hughes of Grand Rapids, MI, three sisters Diane Bridgeman, Veronica (Jerry) Kimble and Mattie Bridgeman of Benton Harbor, MI; five brothers Eugene Bridgeman of Cleveland, TN, Melvin Bridgeman, Dennis Bridgeman and Steve Bridgeman of Benton Harbor, MI and Drew (Darlene) Bridgeman of Dayton, OH. Aunt Connie Humbles. Five grandchildren: Shira Roman of Fayetteville, NC, Tacara Roman of Grand Rapids, MI, Kevin Bridgeman of Phoenix, AZ, Cody Bridgeman of Grand Rapids, MI, Myia Bridgeman of Grand Rapids, MI. One great-grandchild: Jerelis Elijah Bean of Grand Rapids, MI, and many nieces, nephews, family, and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Henry Lee and Lonnie Bell Bridgeman, four sisters Darlene Sesson, Carla Ann Alexander, Barbara Sims, and Kimberly Ann Bridgeman; two brothers Kevin Lauderdale and Baby Boy Bridgeman.

This fragile time reminds us to cherish our loved ones, live with a positive outlook, and find joy in the simple things of life. I long to see her in Paradise. -- Brenda

We loved our mom very much. We long for the day when we will see her again in Jehovah’s beautiful paradise right here on earth. Psalm 37:11, 29. --Tijuana and Tammy

“I have fought the fine fight, I have run the race to the finish, I have observed the faith.”

--2 Timothy 4:7
