Caroline Jane (Schraeder) Armstrong

Caroline Jayne Armstrong of Grand Rapids, Michigan (formerly of Naples, Florida and Lafayette, Indiana) age 97, died on Friday, January 20th, 2023. She was born to Charles and Edna (nee Spears) Schraeder on June 21, 1925.

Jayne enjoyed a 65 year marriage to her beloved husband, Charles, who preceded her in death in 2010. Jayne and Chuck met when they were both in the Marine Corps during WWII.

Jayne enjoyed playing many games, especially bridge and dominoes, thread and yarn crafts, (she was a very talented seamstress), playing organ music, but most of all, she enjoyed the company of family and her many friends.

Jayne is survived by her sons, Bruce and Brian, their wives, Marianne and Deborah, and her seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The family is planning a reunion in her honor to occur in late spring.

Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to their local Humane Society: Jayne truly loved animals.
