Agnes Ruth (Bouterse) Koning-Fischer

Agnes Ruth Koning-Fischer, age 94, passed away Saturday April 6, 2024, surrounded by her family at home.

A lifelong resident of Michigan, Agnes worked for 43 years at Kentwood Public Schools where she touched the lives of many students and teachers. She met her husband, Richard Koning, when they were teenagers and stayed together until his death in 1980. She married Lawerance Fischer in 1995 and stayed with him until his unexpected passing in 1995. Agnes loved her family and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents John Bouterses and Alma Schmit; and siblings Olga, Alma, Charlotte, Florence and John.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Nancy (Dale) Rounds, and Susan Boland (Koning); Grandchildren Tamara (Tim) Fleisher, Crystal Belliel, Liz (DJ) Buist, Amanda (Josh) Bos; and Great Grandchildren Logan Fleisher (Amy), Bryce Fleisher, Kennedy Buist, Blake Buist, Colton Buist, Teya Bos, Logan Bos and Liam Bos.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Kids Food Basket and Corwell Health Hospice.

A celebration of life will be held on April 27th from 12:30pm-3:30pm at:
