Xiena Yvonne Sturgis, or "Bubby", came into this big old world on January 11, 2019 at 8:01 a.m. weighing 7 lbs 11.5 ounces with her eyes wide open to Larissa Macklin and Christian Sturgis. Her beautiful brown eyes tragically closed on March 13, 2019 at her home in Grand Rapids, Michigan surrounded by the love of her family. Xiena was a happy baby who loved to eat and had a natural curiosity (which is a nice way of saying she was nosey like certain other members of her family). In her short time on this earth, Xiena brought incredible joy to those who had the privilege of knowing her. Who wouldn't fall in love with those big, curious eyes and sly, knowing smile? Xiena, we may never understand why you were taken from us so soon but we will forever cherish the time we were granted. Just know that you would have loved your big crazy family and you would have been spoiled rotten. There are truly no words to describe the love we have or the heartache we are suffering. You are missed and you are loved. Xiena is survived by her loving parents Larissa Macklin and Christian Sturgis; her sister Ka'myia Washington; grandparents Ken & Yvonne Jacobs, Kimberlin K. Sturgis, Ralph Arrington and Bernard Macklin (Nadine); great-grandparents Vicky Smith, Geraldine H. Sturgis, Leonard Kincaid (Trish), Tommie Arrington (Minnie), Kathleen Davis and Janice Jacobs; aunts Karissa Simpson and Alecia Macklin; uncles Cameron Jones, Tevon Steward and Keon Jacobs; Godparents, Amber Applewhite, Sarah Howard, Julius Melton, Tony Darin and Ronnie Green and a host of loving cousins, family & friends. She was preceded in death by both of her grandfathers, Douglas Smith and James O. Sturgis and her uncle, Jordan Toliver.
