William (Bill) was welcomed home on a warm summer day in June, just before sunset. He was a warrioruntil the very end of his battle with cancer, purposeful in life and confident about life after life. He crossed the finish line with dignity and honor and with the full presence of body, mind and spirit in the last race of his life Bill was born in Lakeland Florida in1935. He was of Danish heritage,and he believed he was ancestor of Erik the Red. He moved to Westwood NJ when he was 5 where he became an accomplished athlete, setting 27 year track records at Westwood High School. He attended Lafayette College on athletic and ROTC Scholarships and was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity.
