Grand Rapids, MI Willa Mast (VanderStoep) of Grand Rapids succumbed to the onslaught of cancer on June 17, 2021. Willa was born in 1943 in Shiprock, NM. She grew up in Shiprock, and graduated from Calvin College, and earned a Masters degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. She taught Art and English in secondary schools in Denver, CO, Nederland, TX, and Yorktown, IN. She finished her professional life as a social worker.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years Myron ("Mike") Mast, children Michael and Russell, brother Evert VanderStoep, sister Jane Van Dyke, grandchildren Samantha, Patrick, Jago, and Miela, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at Ofield Funeral Home (4500 Kalamazoo SE, Grand Rapids, MI) at 2pm on Friday, June 25th.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to the Navajo Relief Fund.
