Wesley Kevin Shoebridge, 66, of Cutlerville, MI passed away December 6, 2023 at his home.  Born July 8, 1957 in Hastings, MI, he was the youngest of nine children born to the late Richard Deforest Shoebridge and Nina Naomi (Nelson) Shoebridge and was the husband of Laurie Carol (Jones) Shoebridge.  Wesley had been employed with Culligan for a number of years prior to changing career paths and becoming a plumber. He worked for Mr. Rooter, which later became Rapid Rooter, for a total of twenty-four years prior to retirement.  Wesley was a lifelong avid outdoorsman.  He loved deer hunting and fishing, especially being out on the lake ice fishing in the wintertime.  In his later years, he took up woodworking as a hobby and even completely renovated the kitchen in the home that he and Laurie shared, building all of the cabinets himself by hand.  Wesley had a beautiful garden year after year and always looked forward to canning and sharing from his crop.  He was a kind and generous man who always took care of those around them and made sure they had everything they needed.

In addition to Laurie, his loving wife of nearly forty-five years, Wesley is survived by his children, Caroline Rose Beck and Wesley Richard Shoebridge; grandson, Eli Kevin Beck; siblings, Delbert Hutchingson, Delores Carlson Coleman, Jim Shoebridge, Sue Kohler, Sandy Meijers and Lorraine Pennington; and many nieces and nephews.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Deforest Shoebridge and Bruce Shoebridge.

Wes loved to make people smile. He played random jokes on as many as he could. He loved to play in ladies hair, also hide behind them to see how long it took to startle someone. He also loved to play slug bug. He often did so while he trained newcomers to the plumbing company they worked for, or anyone in his vehicle.

A celebration of life will take place on August 10, 2024 at 1pm at Cornerstone Church South Wyoming Campus 2730 56th St SW, Wyoming, MI 49418.
