Baldwin, Wayne 10/31/1928 - 5/31/2019 Grand Rapids, MI Wayne James Baldwin, age 90, of Grand Rapids, MI, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on May 31, 2019. Wayne was born in 1928 in Marlette, MI to Raymond M. Baldwin and Lilith L. (Onstead) Baldwin. Wayne grew up in Brighton, MI and received a Bachelor degree from Lawrence Tech University and proudly served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army from January 1952 to January 1954 during the Korean War. Wayne worked at Corduroy Rubber for 33 years. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Sally A.; his children: Jeffry W. Baldwin, Karen E. (Gary) Jones and Shelley J. (John) Knox. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Caroline (Jerry) Hodson, Christina (Gregory) Ray, Laurie (Troy) Damalak, Merlin Baldwin, Elizabeth (Chris) Kizer, Jeffry W. Baldwin, Jr., Kevin (Maria) Baldwin, Jessica (Andy) Castillo and Jacob Knox. Twelve wonderful great grandchildren were the light of his eyes, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by many family members and friends from his wonderful life. His motto was "Family First". Wayne loved his Lake Michigan cottage which the whole family enjoyed for fifty years and the Alpena "Little Red Cabin" remained his refuge from the busy everyday life. A Celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
