Vittorio Giuseppi
Lange
Sep 19, 1970 — Oct 19, 2026
Vittorio Giuseppi “Vito” Lange, 56, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on October 19, 2026. Born September 19, 1970, in Grand Rapids, Vito was the son of Mary Lange and the late Donald Lange.
Vito was truly one of a kind. He had a presence that was impossible to miss; he was intelligent, opinionated, passionate, fiercely protective, and even though he was outwardly – a big, tough guy, he was incredibly sensitive. He had strong opinions, with an endless curiosity about the world, and when he was in the room, you noticed. Openly proud of his Italian heritage, he often spoke with his hands when he talked and never tried to be anyone other than himself. He could make you mad, make you laugh, drive you crazy, yet - you’d still find yourself in a conversation with him later that day. Even when it was impossible to agree with him, he had a way of making people want to be around him.
Born and raised in Grand Rapids, he grew up mostly with his mother and sister. Vito was on the move from an early age and started walking at seven months old. That determination to walk, followed him in everything he did throughout his life. Vito was naturally curious and very much lived in the present moment. He never stopped learning, kept exploring new ideas, and was always looking for his next opportunity up until his final days with us. Throughout Vito’s lifetime, he owned a lawncare business, invested in properties, and most recently earned his real estate license.
But, more than anything, Vito loved his family. His six children were his world, and there was little he wouldn't do for them. He made sacrifices throughout his life, so they could have what they needed. He was a protector from an early age, initially looking out for his mother and sister, and then later in life, he brought that same devotion and protectiveness to his children. He loved being surrounded by family, eating good food, traveling together, and simply spending time with the people he loved most. He had an amazing way of turning ordinary moments into memorable ones, and those memories will remain a special part of his family’s life forever.
Vito is survived by his mother, Mary Lange; his sister, Regina (Gina) Lungaro; his six children, Vittorio Giuseppi Lange Jr., Olivia Sicilyia Lange, Vittoria Seppiana Lange, Andreas Luciano Lange, Adrian Amina Lange, and Guiseppe Fernando Lange; and his grandchildren, Xavier Thaddeus Razo, Gian'Luca Montecino, Isabella Amilya Razo, Mateo Vittorio Negron, Ellio Elias Morales, and Seppiana Mary Morales. He is also survived by his siblings, Donald Joseph Lange Jr. and Sigourny Lange, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lange; and his sister, Alison Lange.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Vito's life on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Visitation will begin at 11:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM. A procession to Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens will depart at 1:30 PM.
