Witherell, Virginia Ann (Gilbert) Plainwell,MI At 73 years of age, she passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at home on January 3rd, 2017. Born January 18th, 1943 the first daughter of the late Edward and Alice Gilbert. She graduated from Otsego High School in Otsego, MI in 1961. On December 17th, 1962 she married Ed Witherell of Kalamazoo, MI who survives. She will be lovingly remembered by her two children Wendy (the late Frank) Whitney and Tom (Sheri Kennedy) Witherell. Her grandchildren are Kayla (Josh) Murdock, Frank Whitney IV, Brenna Whitney and Derek Witherell. She also has two great-grandchildren in Lauren and Hannah Murdock. Her siblings are Sandra (Tony) LoPresto, Charles (Lou Ann) Gilbert and sister-in-law Kay Horton, as well as several nieces and nephews. You often would find her at a childs or grandchilds sporting event. She loved her family and working with children as evident by her 20 year career as a daycare professional. She also loved to dance, especially country western dancing. Her and Ed would spend many of their nights dancing them away together. While dancing through Texas, the south, and all over the midwest, she developed the love of traveling which lead to her favorite trip of spending three weeks in England and Scotland with Ed. She also had a deep love of all animals she came across. Whether it would be dogs, cats, horses, or sheep, she loved them all. Cremation has taken place and a memorial luncheon will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan, MI.
