Vincent James Barone, Jr. (Vinnie) passed away peacefully on the morning of July 1, 2020 in his home in Wyoming, MI. Vince was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Vincent and Antoinette on December 23, 1951. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Brenda Barone. His children Rachelle, Ryan and Shavonne Barone, Tammie (Jeremy) Lancaster, Tina Rinzema and step-son Roger Donley; his grandchildren Briana Barone, Seth and James Yoder, Alyana Affolder and Sean (Ashley) Donley. He is also survived by his six siblings Jerone Ford, Rosalie Nichols, Frank, Donald and Jack Barone; brother-in-law Harold (Marsha) Hamock, plus several nieces and nephews. Vinnie worked at General Motors in Wyoming, MI for 30 years as an inspector where he acquired his love of cars, especially sports cars. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved all of the pets he had throughout his life. With a special admiration for his dogs, Cheyenne and Nikki, that he got from Kent County Animal Shelter. He will be remembered as a kind man with a big heart who would have helped anyone in need. Even though he was small in stature with a soft heart, he was mighty and strong. Vinnie had many hobbies throughout his life including camping at Silver Lake, visiting Mackinaw, boating on Lake Michigan, dancing, and playing penny poker with his family. He also enjoyed building model cars, playing the drums, watching Nascar and collecting Nascar memorabilia. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 11 at New Life Grand Rapids, 2777 Knapp St NE, Grand Rapids MI with Pastor Lonnie Shields officiating. A visitation with family will take place an hour before (10am). Arrangements are by Simply Cremation and Funeral Care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to The Kent County Animal Shelter. The family of Vincent wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice of Holland and the nurses that cared for him.
