Tonya Marie Harbin, affectionately known as Toni by her loved ones, graced the world with her presence on October 5, 1967, in Dayton, Ohio. A beacon of light and joy, Toni's journey on earth came to an unexpected end on May 30, 2024, due to a car accident in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was a beloved mother, partner, sister, aunt, and friend whose vibrant spirit and infectious laughter enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Toni, a proud graduate of Marcellus High School, carried her thirst for knowledge to Western Michigan University, where she pursued her interests passionately. Her academic journey paved the way for a fulfilling career as a dedicated EMT and Respiratory Therapist. Toni's professionalism and empathy in her work left an indelible mark on her colleagues and those she served, embodying the spirit of care and compassion that defined her.

Toni's life was a tapestry of love and dedication, woven with the deep bonds she shared with her family. She is survived by her adoring son, Gabriel Auer, her loving partner, Cora Jordan, her steadfast sister, Regi Harbin, and her  brother, Jim Harbin. Toni held a special place in her heart for her niece, Logan Harbin, who, along with other nieces, nephews, family members, many friends, and her beloved dog Brody will forever cherish Toni's memory and the light she brought into their lives.

She was proceeded in death by her father Jimmie Harbin, her beloved mother Laura June Cook, and her younger sister Nikki Cook.

A woman of many talents, Toni had a creative soul that found expression in her crafts. Her imagination was her playground, and she crafted beauty with her hands, whether through her art or in the tranquility of her garden. Toni's love for gardening was more than a hobby; it was a testament to her ability to nurture and cultivate life in all its forms.

Toni's voice was a gift, not just to her, but to everyone who had the pleasure of hearing her sing. Described by many as the voice of an angel, she sang to the hearts of many, touching lives with her melodious tunes and the passion with which she delivered each note.

Those who knew Toni will remember her for her exceptional sense of humor, her beautiful smile, her boundless creativity, and her fervent passion for life. Toni's laughter was a remedy to the soul, her creativity a source of inspiration, and her passion a guiding force that encouraged others to live fully and love deeply.

As we bid farewell to Toni, we are reminded of the words of the great poet Maya Angelou, who once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Toni made us all feel loved, valued, and joyful. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and the beautiful moments that we shared with her.

Toni's life was a reflection of the beauty and resilience of the human spirit. Her impact on the world was profound, and her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life of Tonya Marie Harbin—a life lived with humor, creativity, and passion. May she rest in peace, and may her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.

There will be a celebration to honor Tonya's life at Palmer Park (Open shelter A) 1275 52nd St. SW, Wyoming, Michigan 49509 on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 4pm - 7pm.
