Tonya Rae Gibson age 60, passed away February 19, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born August 2, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio to Phyllis & George. She enjoyed a long career at the Grand Rapids Press, where she retired. Later in life, she discovered that her new passion was working with the elderly as a CNA and Home Healthcare Aide. She felt in her heart that her presence could brighten someone's day and she did just that. Her infectious laugh and beautiful smile will never be forgotten. She touched everyone she encountered which includes people and animals. Tonya was known for her humor and wit and above all, her genuine kindness. She rescued baby birds that fell from their nest and befriended backyard squirrels who she loved to feed. She enjoyed playing pool, going to the casino, the Hallmark channel and snuggling with her cats, Baby and Jesse. She loved a good yard sale and proved herself to be quite the negotiator. Her bargains ranged from doilies to antique Flow Blue china. Walking into her home, you could see the love she put into displaying her beautiful treasures. If you stayed for a while, she would more than likely talk you into a friendly game of Monopoly. Tonya is survived by her three children, Misty Conkle (John), Kelly Ellis (Gary), and Russell Harp (Nakeesha); grandchildren, Chandler Cockerham, Jade Conkle, Nicholas Cockerham, Christopher Akers, Jackson Conkle, and "Lil" Russell; plus two great-grandchildren, Allison Conkle & Amaya Cockerham; her sister, Georgia Riley (Paul) andtwo nieces, Audra Lenos & Melissa Riley.
