IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Todd Michael
Bovee
May 18, 1968 – August 19, 2019
Todd Michael Bovee passed on the evening of August 19th surrounded by family. Born May 18, 1968, Todd enjoyed a long career in manufacturing and engineering in the medical field with acknowledgement and awards from companies in Michigan, Colorado and Tennessee. He was well regarded by employers and colleagues for his intelligence, innovative skills, work ethic and loyalty, along with his witty sense of humor. Through the influence of his grandparents and others, he became an avid outdoorsman and loved all aspects of nature (except ticks and mosquitoes), exploring the backwoods and streams of Michigan, Colorado, Tennessee and California, hunting with his "brothers from other mothers," searching for scorpions in the deserts of Saudi Arabia, four-wheeling in his Jeeps, and following wherever else the trail took him. Using his expertise and insight, Todd was willing to lend a hand to anyone in need on a variety of projects. Known for his culinary skills, he created his own signature spice blends under his Black Spatula label. Listening to music and going to concerts were favorite pastimes. Above all, Todd's favorite activity was sharing his many interests, talents and knowledge with his beloved son, Shiloh, spending hours together in the shop, building and tinkering with various projects, sharing music, movies and hobbies. Their most treasured memories were watching the sunset in Grand Haven and taking the Mustang for a spin. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. Todd was preceded in death by his grandparents Edwin and Elaine Bovee, and Gordon and Lois LaBree, and sister Lisa (Bovee) Sweers. He is survived by his son Shiloh Bovee, lifelong friend and Shiloh's mother Gina Covert, parents Lloyd and Gay Bovee, mother Madeline LaBree Barkalow, stepfather Bruce Barkalow, siblings Gina (Jim Kay) Barkalow, Deidra (Tim Little) Barkalow, Travis Barkalow, Amy (Brad) Rowe, Deanna (Alan) Hoffman, Scott (Shannon) Rifenberg, best friend Tommy Armstrong-Leavitt, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved him dearly. A private celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Gifts in Todd's memory may be made to the Timber Wolf Alliance of the Sigurd Olsen Environmental Institute at Northland College: https://www.northland.edu/sustainability/soei/soei-give/
