DeJong, Timothy James “Tim” age 63, of Sparta, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 8, 2026, after a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin DeJong, and his father, James Henry “Hank” DeJong.

Tim’s memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Lisa (Kluesner) DeJong; his mother, Ann Lois DeJong; and his sister, Sandy (David) Vanderlugt. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Monica Broyles and Sarah (Brandon) Kaines; his grandchildren, Nicole and Sawyer Kaines, Madison Ford (Devin Suarez), and Leslie Hall; his nephew, Kevin Seville; his niece, Brooke (Shane) Flynn; and his great-niece, Meadow Flynn.

He will be deeply missed by his sister-in-law, MaryJo (Mike) Hosman; brother-in-law, Gerry Kluesner; and a wide circle of close friends who over the years truly became family…plus that one short guy.

Tim was a man who cherished the simple blessings of life. He found great joy in the outdoors, especially during his highly anticipated annual fishing trips to Lake Erie and walks in the park with his beloved dogs, Cocoa and Otto. He wholeheartedly valued his time with his wife, Lisa, whether they were setting off on fun adventures traveling through Michigan or sharing peaceful, everyday moments together at home. Above all, Tim’s greatest pride was his grandchildren; he treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be carried forward for generations.

Service Information

A Funeral Service honoring Tim will be held June 20, 2026 11:00AM at Ballard Christian Church, 1633 10 Mile Rd NW, Sparta, MI 49345.

Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to stay for a time of visitation and a luncheon to celebrate Tim's life.
