Timothy "Tim" Leon Steffen, age 71, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023.

He was born on February 27, 1952, in Zeeland, to Aaron and Helen (Foreman) Steffen.

Tim enjoyed cooking, grilling, playing cards, and games.  His greatest joy was his grandchildren.  He loved to spend time with them, and he talked about them all the time.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Monica (Klamer) Steffen; his children: Paul (Beth) Steffen and Kim (Jason) Harper; five grandchildren: Eli, William, Alexa, Myles, and Nicolas; siblings: Aaron (Loretta) Steffen and Kathy (Nate) Knochel; brother-in-law, Otto Schlatter; as well as many other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings: Donna Steffen, Carl (Myrna) Steffen, and Pat Schlatter.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Apostolic Christian Church Alto, 7157 Wingeier Ave, Alto, MI 49302.  A visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, MI 49508.
