On September 25th, 1948 Robert and Eleanor Wilson welcomed their first baby "Tom" into the world. Tom was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He enjoyed spending his summers up north in Stanwood on the Muskegon river.
Tom graduated from West Catholic High School in 1967 and went on to study his passion in electronic engineering. He soon married Joan and together they raised 3 beautiful daughters.
Tom spent many years working and running his own telecommunications business all while devoting his free time to his daughters fishing, taking long walks in the fields by their summer home, boating, bon fires, and teaching them just about everything he knew. Tom retired after 40+ years from AT&T and had a strong passion for ham radio. He then fulfilled his dream of opening the 2nd Hand Ham Shop.
Sadly Tom's health began to fail and slowly became home bound for a few years before a 7 month battle that took his life on July 21st, 2024 surrounded by his loving daughters.
Tom is survived by his daughters Leah (Mike Krueger) Buchanan, Jodi (Craig) Timmerman and Kimberly Betten. Grandchildren Jessica Buchanan, Bobby (Lexi) Buchanan, Brenden (Olivia) Timmerman, Owen (Aubrey) Timmerman, Lily (David Arnold) Betten, Joey Betten, Ella Betten, and Ava Betten. Great grandchildren Aly, James, and Blake Buchanan. His sister Sherri (Tom) Wilson/Mort, former wife Joan Wilson, many cousins, great friends and his beloved fur baby Grover.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Wilson and mother Eleanor Wilson, many aunts, uncles, cousins and his other fur baby Romeo. Tom's daughters are following his wishes to be cremated and have a celebration of life at a later date.
