April 20, 2015 Thomas Jeffrey "TJ" Whitaker was born March 1, 1992 and passed away Monday, April 20, 2015. Surviving are his parents Jeff and Mary Whitaker, siblings Violet Whitaker (Josh Flood), Victoria Whitaker (Matthew Jacobs), Rebecca Whitaker, Elisabeth Whitaker, Joseph Whitaker, special nephew Sebastian, grandmother Nancy Whitaker, aunts and uncles Cindy (Dick) Nolte and son Nathan, Melinda (Dana) Czapla and sons Jacob and Zachery, Tom (Ginger) Spangler and kids Lauren and Thomas, Sue Spangler and son Trevor, special friend Jason VanRoekel, his faithful cat Jade and several relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert E. Whitaker and Gloria and Thomas Spangler and aunt Ivy Haddix. Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, April 25 at the Ofield Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm and Saturday 12-pm before the service with Reverend Phil DeJonge officiating. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Dear Thomas: We love you and we miss you! You are a gentle giant with a heart of gold. You always put family first. Even though you got angry, you always forgave the people you loved. You had a huge imagination, loved nature, science and animals. You loved music and playing your guitar. You loved to hear our ideas and would encourage us in our pursuits. You had the most eclectic tastes and varied interests of anyone we've ever known. You didn't care about outward appearances - you saw to people's inner nature and loved them for that. Protective of the people you loved. PEACEMAKER. Ambitious and full of potential. Clown and goofy. The happiest baby/little boy ever. You loved firetrucks, diggers and every kind of food put in front of you. You held NO grudges and would have wanted truth, justice, mercy, love and freedom to ring so loud that it would cause mountains to tremble. You will always be with us, everything you taught us, every memory, how you lived. You will be a part of us as long as we keep you in our hearts- forever. You lived each day as if it was your last.
