Walton, Thomas Rex, age 74, passed away on Saturday, November 14th in Grand Rapids. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Garth and Ethel Walton. He is survived by his wife, Debi; daughters, Jennifer (Matt) Tidd, Suzanne (Rob) Browne, Julie (Mike) Mielzynski; step-children, Sean (Kelli) Cassis, Christopher (Vivy) Cassis, Brandon Cassis, Rosemary (John) Anderson, Michael (Pauline) Cassis, Ben Cassis; sister, Ellen Simmons; 22 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; and special friends, Jeff & Sue Helder, Rick & Angie Farina, Bill Rock, Diane Reimink. Tom worked for Smiths Aerospace (formerly Lear Siegler), McDonnell Douglas, and retired from Belcan. A celebration of Tom's life will take place on Wednesday, November 18th at 11AM, at the Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8PM and one hour prior to the celebration of Tom's life on Wednesday. Tom's wish was for everyone attending his celebration service and visitation to be dressed casually, jeans are more than appropriate.
