Obituary

Thomas (Tom) Elwood Frampton, age 76, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023. Tom was born to Mary L. Schmidt and George Frampton on March 19, 1947 in Flint, Michigan. He was the third of four sons.  The family lived on a farm in North Branch, Michigan where Tom grew up and attended school.  An avid athlete, Tom played varsity basketball and football.  After Tom graduated from Eastern Michigan University, he enjoyed a long career teaching high school English and sociology.  He eventually went on to coach basketball throughout his teaching career. He then spent the longest years of his career as a principal. His love of sports following his teaching days culminated with golf outings with his many friends and brothers.

Tom was happily and wonderfully married to Christan (Chris) for 57 years. Tom loved to spend time with his family. In retirement with his wife, they enjoyed the beauty of northern Michigan and visited their family in South Carolina and Illinois.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife Chris; his two favorite daughters and their husbands Nicole and James Bates, and Kendra and Dan Hewitt; Grandchildren Jordan, Branson, Tyler, Reagan, Connor, Cayden and Kiera; Siblings Larry (Alexa) Frampton, Leslie (Pam) Frampton, Kevin (Kelli) Schmidt; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary L. Schmidt, Arnold (Smitty) Schmidt and  George Frampton.

A service and celebration of life is planned for 1:00 PM, Saturday November 18, 2023 at St. Hubert Catholic Church 7612 W Higgins Lake Dr, Roscommon, MI 48653

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to St. Hubert's Catholic Church Women's/Men's Club.

We thank You Lord, that Tom found a deeper faith in recent years…that he spoke with the priest and received the sacraments.  Your promise to us is John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.. that whoever believes in him will not perish, but will have everlasting life.  The hope of heaven… everlasting life. We cling to that now, God. For we know we will see him again.  John 16:22 says: So with you; Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.  Tom is rejoicing with You! And one day, he will be reunited with those he's left behind.

Framptoni sleeps….at rest…but still alive in the company of heaven.  Thanks, God, for the gift he was to all who knew and loved him.
