Thomas Gaffney, age 93, precious child of God, devoted husband of 56 years, wonderful father of 5, grandfather of 12, great-grandfather of 12 and great-great-grandfather of 3, passed from this life into eternity on December 15, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Rena (Walter) Gaffney, his wife, Gay (Mohnke) Gaffney, and his 7 siblings. Tom will be lovingly remembered by his children, Cheryl (Bill) Hendrix, Patrick (Marcia ) Gaffney, Jeanne (Roger) Hiddema, Brian (Karma) Gaffney, Kevin (Sarah) Gaffney, and other family members, friends and others who were privileged to have known this gentle and caring person. Tom served in the US Navy during WWII as a pilot, flying off a carrier ship in the Pacific. After his military service, he worked as a commercial carpenter and foreman for Muskegon Construction Company for 40 years.
