IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Joseph
Drozdowski
May 30, 1946 – November 4, 2020
Thomas Joseph Drozdowski, age 74, of Hudsonville, MI, beloved father, grandfather, and uncle passed away peacefully on November 4, 2020. After being diagnosed with kidney cancer in early 2020, he fought until the very end. Going to treatment alone due to visitor restrictions during the pandemic, video visits and phone calls were his routine. He is now at peace and comforted in the arms of the Lord and reunited with his wife of 44 years, Sharon (Curtis), the love of his life. Tom will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Born May 30, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MI, he was the only child of the late Leo Joseph and the late Mary Catherine (Shaw) Drozdowski. Tom is survived by his two daughters, Sherri (Ron) Bolthouse and Lisa Drozdowski. He is lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren, Andrew, Addison and Tristen and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and brothers-in laws, Terry and Larry Curtis.
Tom graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1964 and Western Michigan University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. While attending college, he met and fell in love with his wife, Sharon. Shortly after graduation they were married. Tom enlisted in the Army reserves during the Vietnam War. He remained in the Army reserves for six years. Tom's career included working at General Motors in Wyoming, MI in the payroll and accounting departments. The company transitioned to Rochester Products and Delphi Automotive. Tom was offered early retirement in 2001 and happily accepted. Tom and Sharon lived in Kentwood, MI for over 30 years where they raised their two girls. Many lifelong friendships were made with neighbors during those times, especially at the block parties and euchre tournaments. After the birth of their grandchildren, Tom and Sharon moved into a condo to be closer to the kids. The happiest times were spent at their cottage on Big Fish Lake in Marcellus, MI. There were wine festivals, pontoon rides and hog roasts with the neighbors and friends around the lake, as well as with food and drinks shared at The Rock at Big Fish Lake. Many memorable nights were spent in the screen room with lake friends and family. He also spent his time traveling with his wife and close friends Jerry and Sharon Melko. He was always ready to tell stories and share his time with neighbors and friends. Tom enjoyed watching football and golf, fishing and appreciating a craft beer. His favorite place to have a pint was at White Flame Brewing Company. He loved tinkering around the house and garage.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a service at this time. We hope to celebrate his life at a future time when we can all safely gather together again.
