August 30, 2012 Service: September 6, 2012 Theodore Bruce Dykstra (Ted), age 70 of Ada, (saved by grace) went home to be with the Lord on Thursday August 30th 2012. His illness was of short duration and when he passed he was with his wife and family.Ted was a true patriarch of his family who nurtured and helped them to pursue their dreams. Ted's greatest joy was seeing his children and grandchildren grow and succeeded.Ted whose father passed away when he was nineteen assumed the responsibilities of his family's needs. Ted graduated from Wyoming Park High school, Grand Rapids Community College and attended Western Michigan University.Ted was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Ted worked as an Electrical Manufacturers Representative and as a nurse. Along with spending time with family Ted also enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and camping.Ted is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Lou Jean Dykstra (Rozell), his children Theodore Gene Dykstra, Lou Jean and Jamie Stickney, Michelle and Dan Phillips, Theresa Nyberg and Trena Van DerWeg. His brothers and sisters Marcia and Phillip Stites , Barbara and John Walma, Tim and Hazel Johnson, Joe and Sheila Johnson, Andy and Bev Johnson, Susie and Ron Antcliff, Grace and David Marvin; 19 grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 6 at 3:00 p.m. at the Impact Church in Lowell, 1070 North Hudson St SE. The family will meet with friends one hour before the service at Impact Church.
