Suzette Linnae Uminn (Gale) passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in Kalamazoo, Michigan at the age of 78. She is survived by her husband, Ludwig (Louie) Uminn; children, Ben Uminn and Tasha Mazo (Uminn);  grandchildren, Kalsee Masters, Katelyn Uminn, Kyler Uminn, and Tyler Mazo; mother, Madeline Hoppe; siblings, Marsellie McNett, Mark (Julie) Kindig, and Matt (Donna) Kindig; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Kindig in 1978, step-father Ben Hoppe in 1987, and her brother-in-law Mike McNett, who passed away in 2022.

Suzette was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on October 31, 1946. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1965, and in June of 1967 married Louie Uminn in a small church in Kendall, Michigan. They purchased a home in Comstock, Michigan, where they've resided the past 57 years.

Suzette loved and adored her children and grandchildren fiercely and cherished spending time with them. In addition to being envied by friends and family for never getting a grey hair, she was an Elvis fan, a scary movie buff, and a collector of antique baby bottles. As an animal lover, Suzette doted on her cats and dogs over the years, and was fond of warm afternoons with a cat on her lap watching neighborhood animals from her porch—decorated with wind chimes, stained glass, and plants—while enjoying a glass of iced tea.

Suzette's laughter was contagious. Her silly, kindhearted soul will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
