January 2, 2015 Susan Emily Stickell, 36, died at home in Grand Rapids on January 2, 2015. Born on March 6, 1978 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Pauline Stickell. Susan survived severe injuries from an automobile accident in 1981 and struggled against resulting handicaps. She attended Lincoln School. She is survived by her father, stepmother Kimberly, and four sisters, Caroline, Madeleine, Hilary, and Sophie. She was preceded in death by her mother and sister Rebekah. Her life was greatly enriched by many caregivers from the Spectrum Health system, with special gratitude to Karen Geysbeek and Kathie Dennis. A graveside committal service and burial will take place at a later date in Gilson, Illinois.
