Sue Ellen Rosmis of Decatur, Michigan, age 79. passed away on May 28, 2022. She was born to Earl and Rosalee (Tarpley) Kocher on January 16, 1943.
Sue was second oldest of five children and was born in East St. Louis, Illinois. She graduated one year early in 1959 from The Academy of Notre Dame in Belleville, Illinois and spent some time training at a secretarial school before starting her first job at an advertising agency in St. Louis, Missouri.
Sue was happily married to Bruce William Rosmis for many years before his passing in 1992. They had one child, Sara Paige Cloutier (Rosmis).
Sue loved flowers, feeding the birds and was an avid cruciverbalist. She was known for her wit and was loved and appreciated by all who knew her.
On March 18, 2008, Sue was awarded the Portage Indiana Police Department's Life Saving Award. Sue and her daughter saved an elderly man's life by using broomsticks to fend off an attacking dog.
Sue is survived by her daughter Sara P. Cloutier (Rosmis), her five grandsons Christian, Jediah, Clayton, Justin and Asher, and two brothers Don Kocher (Sharon) and Alan Kocher (Pam).
She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce William Rosmis, parents Earl and Rosalee Kocher, and her two brothers Tom and Roger Kocher.
The family would like to give special thanks to those who showed her care and compassion in her last days including her neighbor Bonnie Franklin and the wonderful folks at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
A private, family-only memorial service will be held in her honor.
