Sue Charles (Loehr), age 90, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, in Grandville, Michigan.

Born on November 9, 1935, in Muskegon, Michigan, Sue was the daughter of Henry and Margaret Loehr. She grew up in Montague and remained deeply connected to her roots throughout her life.

Sue is survived by her daughter Jana Simons (Charles), and Granddaughters, Maggie and Katie Simons. Her brother Jack Loehr and sister-in-law Sue Loehr also survive her, along with her nieces Marsha, Kelly and Julie who held a special place in her heart.

She was a spirited woman with a deep affection for both her family and dogs. Whether she was out for a walk, working, or busying herself at home, she embraced each day with purpose. She had a passion for knitting, crochet, and cooking—skills she used generously to bring comfort to those around her. Her granddaughters will fondly remember how she would sneak them pieces of fudge when their mother wasn’t looking—a sweet symbol of the playful bond they shared.

Sue’s legacy lives on through the memories held by those who knew and loved her. May her memory bring comfort and joy to all whose lives she touched.
