IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steven Anthony
Grzymala
July 24, 1958 – August 16, 2024
In the verdant fields of East Leroy, Michigan, the sun did set on a life well-lived, as Steven Anthony Grzymala, known affectionately as Steve, bade farewell to this mortal coil on the 16th of August, 2024. Born under the summer sky of 1958, in the bustling city of Detroit, Steve's journey was one that saw the laughter and love of a man who cherished the joy in every day.
Steve's lineage was rooted in the industrious spirit of his parents, Leonard and Dorothy Grzymala, both of whom had taken their leave from this world before him. His beloved wife, Debbie Grzymala, too, has crossed the ethereal threshold. Leaving behind a legacy of love are his children, Crystal Case, Dawn Colman, Corey Winters, Scott Grzymala; and his stepchildren, Leslie Angel and Richard Scherer.
His life was further enriched by the smiles and embraces of his grandchildren, Roger Colman Jr, James Coleman, Jacob Colman, Wrenly Coleman, Lonnie Winters, Luke Winters, Liam Winters, Blade Grzymala, Aaliyah Grzymala, Dakota Grzymala, Paul Grzymala, Scott Grzymala Jr, Sophia Wright, Fiona Rice, Emilee Ann, Keegan, Jaxon Edward, Kasen David Scherer; and great granddaughter, Wrenly Coleman. Steve was a proud patriarch, his heart swelling with pride at the sight of his beloved family.
Steve's siblings, Jean, William, Roland, Joanne, Lillian, Teresa, Stanley, Mary Ann, David, Daniel, and the late Patricia, shared the Grzymala name with honor, weaving a tapestry of familial bonds that extended to a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces, whose lives were touched by his vibrant spirit.
Steve's thirst for knowledge was quenched by his pursuit of a G.E.D., which served as the foundation for his illustrious career. His dedication to his craft as an electrician was evident in his twelve years of service in the United States Army, where he tended to the electrical hearts of Huey Helicopters, earning multiple awards and certificates for his skill and dedication. He continued to ply his trade with the Grand Trunk Railroad/Canadian National Railroad for a quarter of a century, a testament to his unwavering work ethic and expertise.
A man of diverse passions, Steve found solace in the restoration of classic cars, the revelry of comedy films, and the mirthful task of holiday decorations. His abode was a sanctuary of ceaseless projects, each a reflection of his indomitable spirit and zest for life. He was the quintessential patriarch, uncle, and friend whose humor and joie de vivre transformed the mundane into the extraordinary.
As Shakespeare wrote, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players." Steve played his role with gusto, his laughter echoing as a sweet melody, his hands never idle, his heart forever open. He was the embodiment of the adage that to live well is to laugh often, a creed he upheld with every jest and jape.
Let us not mourn the setting of this bright star, but rather celebrate the dawn he heralded in every life he touched. Steven Anthony Grzymala, a man of laughter and love, has taken his final bow, but the echo of his legacy will resonate through the ages, a timeless ode to a life well-lived.
