Steven Charles Draft, 78, went to be with his Lord on March 24, 2026.
Steve was a husband, father, grandfather, and Army veteran whose life was shaped by his faith, hard work, and his family. He was a member of Ada Bible Church, where his faith was an important foundation in his life.
Steve was the long time owner of Andrews Jewelers, along with his partner of many years, Joe Bowen. Together, they built a reputable business recognized for its quality and integrity. He took great pride in his work, forming lasting relationships with customers over the years.
Outside of his professional life, Steve has a lasting love of horses and many other animals, spending many hours and enjoyment involved in their care. He also valued family camping trips which remained meaningful to him throughout his life.
Steve is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ellyn; his children Leslie (Steve) Draisma, grandchildren Meghan, Lauren, and Alec; Matthew (Ashleigh) Draft, grandchildren Greta and Sig; Michael (Andrea) Draft, grandchildren Cora, Micah, and Judah; and Nicholas (Buffy) Draft, grandchildren Kirsten and Travis (Amanda, children Emma and Ava) Clelland. He is also survived by his siblings Sharon (Larry) Slager and David (Barbara) Draft and sister-in-law Jean Grevengoed along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
As a family, we hold close the meaningful moments, the lessons learned, and the ways he provided and shaped our lives. We are grateful for the gift of family, a legacy of faith and the time we shared. We take comfort in our faith, trusting in God's mercy and grace, and rejoicing in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
We extend our gratitude to the compassionate staff at Corewell Health Rehabilitation Center for their extraordinary care and support during Steve's final days. We are also thankful for the kindness and comfort provided by Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Steve's memory to Hospice.
