Stephen Louis Waterman, of Chase, Michigan, (formerly of Vicksburg, Michigan), passed away at the age of 76 on February 19, 2021. He was born to Lloyd and Alice Waterman on September 22, 1944 in Kalamazoo Michigan.
Stephen was the middle child. Older sister Marsha Clapp and younger brother Gordon Waterman. Stephen attended Loy Norrix High School. He joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany, where he received an honorable discharge.
After returning from the US Army, Stephen was set up on a blind date with Linda McCaslin. They spent the evening with friends and laughed all night. By the end of the evening Stephen proposed to Linda and they were married on October 13, 1966.
Stephen drove for Graff Trucking and Lasco Trucking for many years. He landed a position with the State of Michigan - Michigan Department of Transportation in 1985.He worked in the maintenance/operations and the forestry departments up until his retirement.
Stephen enjoyed being outside and riding his Harley. He was a member of the Portage/Schoolcraft Eagles Aerie 3531 and the AmVets Post 1988 in Baldwin Michigan. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends. Stephen was very proud to be a Veteran.
Stephen is survived by his three children, Stephen (Gay) Waterman, Jennifer (Doug) Simmons and Shad (Kathy) Waterman. He is also survived by his sister Marsha (Phil) Clapp and brother Gordon Waterman. Stephen has 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Alice. His wife Linda and granddaughter Jensina.
