Shelia was born and raised in Muskegon Michigan to the union of Henry and Yvonne McGruther. Sheila graduated from Orchard View High School in 1973. She was employed at Sentry Private Detective & Security Agency as a security guard. Shelia was a lover of motorcycles and loved going to (Bike Time) along with attending Harley Davidson events. Shelia was always a #1 fan of Ray J. The Doctor at 103.7 the Beat Blues Show. She was a top supporter of Muskegon Big Red and Muskegon Heights Tigers. She loved her some basketball. Shelia was the Big Chief of Bayview Towers.

She was a loving mother and grandmother with a heart of gold and a mouth that told it like it was with no sugar coating anything. Shelia loved and accepted the Lord and belonged to the church without walls, she also played basketball and had a killer jump shot. She played softball as a catcher and a home run hitter! She taught her family and many children in the community sports. Shelia enjoyed spending time doing diamond dots and puzzles with others at the Bayview residence. She also enjoyed spending time at Burger King and feeding other people. She was always wonderfully loved by many and she was pretty dedicated to her grandchildren.

Shelia leaves to cherish her life long companion Howard Harris, Daughters: Lisa-Jervon Kitchen Sr., Tesa McGruther, Stephanie McGruther-Kirks, Sons; Bruce McGruther and Joseph McGruther-Kirks, Grandchildren: Ka'Dijah, Mon'Taijah, Jer'Liseah, Paige'Jah, Jervon Jr., Kalani, Devin, Haleigh, Jaiden, Kyah, Faith, Michael Jr., Emine, Michael II, Michael III, Great-Grandchildren: Azari, Ja'Storiah, Vontay Jr., Hazleigh, DeAndre, Ocean, Okhalani, Ciona, Zavia, Cataleya, Sisters: Candy McGruther-Richards, Alda McGruther, Rebecca Hill, Brother: James (RED) McGruther.

Shelia was preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Yvonne McGruther, Brothers: Billy and Roy McGruther, Sisters: Charlotte, Charlene McGruther, and Emma McGruther Nava, Special Friend Robin Cooley (RC), and Shelia's fur baby (Poo-Poo) a host of family and friends.
