Sharon Suzanne Robison Yentsch, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday 2/10/26. Born on March 11, 1940, in Clare MI, she graduated from Midland High School, then moved on to Michigan State University where she studied Journalism, became a true Spartan, and met many lifelong friends including her husband.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Eva (Lackey) Robison as well as her husband Alfred G Yentsch. Sharon is survived by her children Amy Yentsch, Randy Yentsch (Sarah) and 4 grandchildren: Justine, Alex, Henry and Eva.
She spent most of her life working as a journalist, writer, and public relations specialist for local schools, companies, and arts organizations. She was an avid volunteer in both the arts and politics – even named Republican of the Year for the State of MI, receiving many other awards and accolades throughout her lifetime.
She had a talent for creative pursuits including sewing/quilting, piano playing, needlework, and crochet which she enjoyed sharing with others.
She loved to travel – keeping journals and photo albums from her many trips from all over the United States and as far away as Russia. She loved being a Republican, loved the National Parks, the Presidents, Michigan, Grand Rapids, her friends, activities, and church. She wrote countless pieces as tributes to each of them.
A service will be held Saturday March 14, 2026 at 11 am at St Matthew Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan (5125 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI). Following the service, a luncheon will be held there, with private interment at Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery where she will rest with her husband.
