Sharon Kay Thompson, age 51, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2015. Sharon graduated from Northview High School in 1982, and later went on to Davenport University where she earned a degree in Accounting. She was a devoted animal lover, a talented bowler, and an avid traveler - all passions she passed along to her children. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard & Janet Thompson. She is survived by her children, Shawn (Courtney) Roberts, Kara Roberts, and Megan Myers; Grandson, Bryce Roberts; sisters, Judi (Brian) Roberts and Bonnie (Don) Pleune; and many nieces and nephews. Simple cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. However, a celebration of her life for family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Humane Society of West Michigan or 'Shatterproof'. Sharon will be remembered fondly as a loving sister, aunt, mother and grandmother.
