Sharon M.Johnson (Van Driel), age 73 of Dutton, MI entered her heavenly home on Saturday, September 14, 2019. She was born December 6, 1945 to John and Helen (Cornell) Van Driel. Sharon is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arlie Jay Johnson and their children Brian Johnson, Stacey and Erika Johnson and Jennifer Johnson/Mark Walma. Sharon has 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She will also be remembered by her "adopted" kids, Donnie and Sue Eakins and their two children. She was a second mom to many, many friends of her children. Besides the love she had for her family, she also loved Bangladesh and the people. She packed barrels with medical supplies and shipped them to Bangladesh for over 45 years. She also worked with Bangla Ministries Worldwide - Bangladesh for approximately 20 years. She supported missionaries with prayer and was active with the Women's Missionary Union. She was active with the AWANA program at church over 40 years. For over 20 years, she worked with New Creations Ministry. She loved to support her children and grandchildren by being active with PTO, FFA, band and sports activities during their school days and beyond. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Van Driel as well as her little brother, Freddie. There will be a time of visitation with the family at Good News Baptist Church 6830 Eastern Ave. SE Grand Rapids, MI 49508 from 10 am to 11 am on Saturday, September 28, 2019 with the service following at 11 am. Pastor Brian Cederquist will be presiding. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations can be made in her name to Memorial Christian Hospital.
