Selma Obermeyer died in her home on March 13, 2018 in Sand Lake, MI. She was 86. Selma was born on December 7, 1931 in Grand Rapids, MI to her parents, Elsie and Mohammed Abbasse. She married Harold Obermeyer in 1976. Selma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Doug Coin and their 2 children; her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Stacey Obermeyer and their 3 children and grandchildren; her brother, Toffie Abbasse and her sister Bessma Richardson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her sisters, Hattie Abdalla (Salih), Allet Welch (Bud), Nellie Sejat (John), Miriam Abbasse, Katherine Obermeyer (Harold), her brothers, Saide Abbasse (Miram), Alley Abbasse (Sarah), Ahmed Abbasse (Helen), Selma will be buried at Fairplains Cemetery in Grand Rapids. A Memorial Service will take place on March 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Ofield Funeral Home at 4500 Kalamazoo Ave in Kentwood, MI, 49508 preceded by a Visitation at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. Obermeyer's life.
