It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Sean Cameron Smith, a devoted father and husband, proud Marine, loyal friend, and the kind of man who could light up any room he walked into. Sean, age 54, passed away on March 16, 2026.

Born on December 14,1971, Sean lived a life grounded in service, love, and quiet strength. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, enlisting in 1990 and serving in Guam from 1991 to 1992. A Marine through and through, Sean carried that strength, grit, and loyalty into every part of his life. He later earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornerstone University, but his real expertise was in people, making them laugh, bringing them together, and reminding them not to take life too seriously.

On December 4,1992, Sean married his wife Shannon Hilton-Smith, beginning a lifelong partnership built on adventure. From high school sweethearts to lifelong partners, their love grew up alongside them. Together, they created a family that meant everything to him. Sean was a proud and deeply supportive father to his daughter, Hailey, and his son, Gabriel. He found his greatest purpose in being their dad, always showing up with encouragement and unwavering love.

He was the life of the party wherever he went. Known for his wit and sense of humor, he never missed a chance to crack a joke or tell a story. Whether it was dancing like no one was watching or acting like everyone was, he embraced every second without fear of looking foolish and that’s exactly what made him unforgettable. He loved the simple, good things in life: fishing at sunrise, hunting in the quiet of the outdoors, cold beers with “the boys,” and, above all else, time spent with family and friends. Those were his greatest joys, and he made sure everyone around him felt it. He will be missed beyond words, but his spirit will live on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every moment we choose to live as boldly as he did.

Sean was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Foss; his stepfather, Kevin Foss; and his father-in-law, Gregory Hilton. He is survived by his wife, Shannon Hilton-Smith; his children, Hailey Smith and Gabriel Smith; his sister, Molly Figley; and extended family and loved ones who will miss him deeply. His memory will live on in all who loved him. Semper Fi.
