Obituary

Scott Price of Grand Rapids, Michigan, age 45, passed away on February 11, 2022. Scott was the youngest of two sons born to Jack and Ruth (Benge) Price, Jr. on March 6, 1976 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Scott participated in several programs throughout his years growing up in Kalamazoo including Eastwood Little League Baseball, Boy Scouts, United Methodist Youth Fellowship and golfing Sunday afternoons with a group from Sunnyside U.M.C. . He made many friends along the way, many of whom became like family. Scott loved with his whole heart. He was known for his humor and quick wit and catchy phrases.

Scott's faith was strong and carried him through his nearly year-long journey with cancer. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1994, where he lettered in wrestling. His teammates remained treasured and supportive friends.
Scott graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1999. While attending GVSU he pledged Sigma Phi Epsilon and acquired the nickname, "Rudy". Scott, also, was on the staff of the school paper, "The Lanthorn" and served as Advertising Manager for the 1997-98 school year.

Scott began working at the Chicago Drive Pub & Grill in Grandville, MI in the late 1990s. He worked into a management position during his time there and gained more lifetime friends. We have heard of many 3 am talks. Since March 2016 Scott was employed by S. Abrahams & Sons, Inc. in Walker, MI. Scott was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed U of M football, Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs baseball, and Red Wings Hockey.

In addition to his parents Scott is survived by his brother, Kevin (Josephine) Price and nephew/godson, Alexander of Arlington Hts, IL. His grandmother, Laura Benge of Allen, MI. great aunt Jane (Bob) Grill of Portage, MI. His aunts and uncles, Ken (Nancy) Benge, Martha (Bill) Pridgeon, Betty (Tim) Clawson, Carol (Ralph) Bieganek, Rodger (Judy) Storteboom, Phyllis (Gary) Lubbert and many cousins. Also, former wife, Jennifer Foster survives. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents Russell Benge and Jack & Virginia Price, aunts Gloria (Price) Storteboom and Alice (Balcom) Benge. Scott also mourned the loss of his beloved Weimaraner, Sadie.

Scott was a beautiful, gentle, caring and easily loved soul. He made friends wherever he went. He will be missed by many. There is a hole in our hearts and our world will never be the same without Scott/Rudy.
