Sandra Carmela Brown Wiersma

Sandra Wiersma went home to be with her Lord on May 1, 2021 at her home in Caledonia, MI. Sandy was born May 4, 1939 in Fostoria, OH to Michael and Clara Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Darryl, her son Matthew and daughter Abbi Spielmaker Wiersma.

She is survived by her children: Linda Brown, Lisa Wiersma and Michael Wiersma; brother-in-law Duane Hop, her dear sister and best friend Linda (Bob) Reinhart, her grandchildren: Michelle (Jeff) Haarman, Michael Wiersma Jr, Adrienne Brown (Victor) Murdock, Layle (Kevin) Kaechele, Ashley (Matt) Haan, Jessica Wiersma, and David Wiersma; her great-grandchildren: Robert, Meghan, Ari, Ryan, Kai, Zetta & Reid; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.

Family was a priority in Sandy's life. The larger the family gathering, the better! Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were special sparks of joy to her. Education was also very important to her, and she obtained three degrees in her lifetime. She truly enjoyed her final career choice of Clinical Psychologist. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Caledonia, MI. Among her many hobbies, she was an artist, a gourmet cook, enjoyed travelling, and gained much pleasure from pulling the handle of a one-armed bandit!

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, which was dear to Sandy's heart.
