IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Kay
Lofquist
December 10, 1956 – February 11, 2025
Sandra Kay Lofquist (Warmelink) of Wyoming, Michigan completed her earthside journey, with her daughters at her side, on February 11, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her sweet mama, Shirley Warmelink, her beloved brother, Randy Warmelink and her sons-in-law, Timothy Fidler and Carl DuShane, who recently raced to Heaven ahead of her to help prepare a place for her near her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sandra is survived by her loving father, Carroll Lee Warmelink, as well as her devoted daughters, Shannan DuShane, and Mandy Fidler. Left to cherish her memories are her grandchildren Alexis (Alexander) Heeringa, Chase DuShane, Kennedy (Kaleb) Flint, Madison Douglass Fidler, Alivia DuShane, and Austin McKinley.
Sandra was blessed by the loving presence of every single one of her grandbabies in her final hours, they include Josiah, Lenore, Saphira, Sawyer, and Delilah. Her puppy Lucy, and her kitties Annie May and Molly, brought her so much joy during her struggles with terminal illness, and miss her deeply already. Sandra had profound appreciation and love for Ryan Brenner, who donated the gift of life to her 14 years ago. Because of his selfless act, she was able to see each one of her grandchildren grow into young adults. Ryan and Sandra shared a special bond, and his presence over these difficult past few weeks brought her great comfort.
Sandra was a shining example of fighting the good fight, and not giving up even when others think you should. Sandra asks that you hold onto the memories and think about the good times shared. She wanted you to know that doctors are magnificent, but even they don't know when your story will be over. She hoped that if someone ever handed you an expiration date, like she experienced, you'd find people worth living for, adventures worth being had, and prove them all wrong.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Her loved ones will receive family and friends, to comfort them in their sorrow on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, with visitation at 1:00pm at the Ofield Funeral Home 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. A service to celebrate her life will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Sandra will be interred at Floral View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
