Obituary

Sally Ann (Hodell) Gordon of Grand Rapids, Michigan, age 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 30, 2025, at 11:30 pm.

Sally was born the third of four girls and spent her childhood in Howard City. The Hodell girls dressed to impress and were very social. She was able to get anyone to open up and talk with her, and it usually took several attempts to get her to leave a gathering. She graduated from Tri County High School in 1973. She moved to Cedar Springs, where she raised two girls that she doted on. She spent much of her working life as a waitress working in local restaurants. She had a following of loyal customers that would frequent whatever establishment she worked at and became close friends. She worked at The Village Inn in Pierson, Crawdaddy's, Sam's Joint, First Wok, and Timbers Inn among others.

She loved to go to the beach, especially Lake Michigan, and often spent time with her girls there or at a various other local inland lakes during the summer. She also loved to go on weekend trips around the state with her friends and family. She loved to socialize and was always busy either working or planning events with friends.

She was well loved by all that met her and leaves a lasting impression on the world. She loved to brag about her grandkids. She was always one to bring a surprise with her when you saw her. She loved the joy her gifts brought people.

Sally is survived by her beloved family, sisters; Nancy (Pete) Wahl and Susie Hodell, daughters; Shelly Schneider (Nic) and Mandy Gordon, Her grandchildren; Hailey Schumaker (Hunter), Devin Cooper (Marie), Sora Schneider, Nolan Schneider, and Lyla Schneider.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert Hodell and Beverly Giannarelli, her sister Joni Howkins, and many other beloved relatives.

The family would like to thank everyone in Sally's life that loved and supported her.
