Sally Irene Ambrose (Sheldon) - Sally passed away surrounded by her devoted husband of 42 years, Gerald, and her daughter Laura (Mark) Johnson on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Irene Sheldon and her two nieces, Jil and Michele Sheldon. She leaves behind her granddaughter Katherine, who was the light of her life; her beloved Bob; step-daughter Katrina (Al) Klaiss and her sons Shane and Joseph; step-grandchildren Jessica, Adam, Phillip, Matthew, Rebecca, Rachael and Andrew; brothers Daniel, Gerald and James Sheldon; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Caldwell and their children. Sally loved to sew and made gorgeous clothes for Laura and Katherine, beautiful pieces of art with needle, thread, canvas and with knitting needles and yarn. She loved to work in her yard tending to the flowers and was a fantastic cook. She so loved to have Katherine in the kitchen, teaching her the chemistry of baking, how to temper chocolate, make ganache. She was a voracious reader and loved music. She loved to travel and see the world. Although she will be greatly missed, we are all comforted in knowing that her pain has ended and she is free from the bounds of her earthly body. Her spirit lives on in those she loved so dearly. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8th at 2:OOpm with visitation the hour preceding at East Congregational United Church of Christ, 1005 Giddings Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Heart and Soul Fund at East Church.
