It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ryan William James Mahoney which occurred on May 7, 2026. Willy is survived by his Mother, Mary Mahoney and brother, Sean Mahoney.

Willy was beloved by many people for his gentle soul and creative talents. In addition to having a deep love for filmmaking and writing, he was known to be a loyal friend. Willy’s fluency in being able to speak Spanish was admirable. Given this talent, he reached out to help members of the Spanish community where he lived. Finally, he was a remarkably graceful skateboarder and snowboarder.

A celebration of Willy’s life will be honored later this month at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey, Michigan. We will always remember the best things that we loved about him, and the precious gifts that he shared.
